BEYOND THE CURE AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship program remains a leader in both the dollar amount awarded and the number of recipients. Fifty-eight (58) scholarships are awarded each academic year to help childhood cancer survivors achieve their academic and professional goals. Over $2.3 million has been awarded to 239 childhood cancer survivors to help them fulfill their future dreams. Thank you to the Engelhardt Family Foundation for their continued and generous support. Applicants must be: A childhood cancer survivor under the age of 25 and diagnosed before the age of 18 with cancer or a high grade or anaplastic brain tumor. ALZHEIMER’S FOUNDATION OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP
AFA’s Teen Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship provides educational funding to college-bound high school seniors who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease. Applicants are asked to write an essay (1,500 word maximum) describing the impact of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia-related illness on themselves, their families or their communities, and what they have learned from it. Winners are chosen based off of their essay scores. The grand prize winner receives $5,000, with additional prizes awarded for runners up. Jiffy Lube “Your Turn Behind the Wheel” (Drivers Ed Students) Scholarship
The “your turn behind the wheel” award will be offered only to those students enrolled in driver education during this school year. To apply just tell about yourself in an essay. Get their attention! In your essay give unique ideas, inventions, problem solving solutions, your interests, goals, passion, whatever drives you. Creativity, originality, imagination, and enthusiasm will be judged. Students do not need to attend BYU to receive this scholarship. The BYU Management Society-Salt Lake Chapter will be awarding several scholarships to candidates who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, leadership and positive community or religious service. Scholarships amounts will range from $500 to $5,000 depending on need and merit. Two types of scholarships will be offered; one scholarship based on financial need, and one scholarship based on community service.
